Community Gardens

People’s Homesteading Group has worked with community residents and organizations since 1998 to clean and green vacant lots throughout the Barclay and East Baltimore Midway neighborhoods. We helped establish the Greenmount Community Planning Council, a neighborhood organization dedicated to beautification and vacant lot stewardship. As a result, we have successfully cultivated over a dozen community gardens. Our gardens enliven our neighborhood and allow for all of our residents to interact with each other as we strengthen our community. Area residents have participated in the establishment and maintenance of all these gardens which have flourished and become community landmarks.
